Operated by Mozambique Rovuma Venture (MRV) — a consortium led by Eni, ExxonMobil, and CNPC, alongside ENH, KOGAS, and ADNOC — Coral Norte is a sister project to the successful Coral Sul FLNG, which began production in 2022. The new platform will extract and process gas from the Coral Eocene 441 reservoir, using advanced offshore liquefaction technology.

Set to begin production in 2028, the project is expected to generate around US$23 billion in government revenues over its lifespan, while contributing significantly to job creation, local content development, and energy exports. By doubling Mozambique’s LNG production capacity, Coral Norte will strengthen the country’s position as a key global LNG supplier.

Environmentally, Coral Norte adopts a floating offshore model, minimizing land use and security exposure compared to onshore facilities. The project aligns with Mozambique’s goals of promoting sustainable energy growth, increasing foreign direct investment, and fostering inclusive economic development.
